Cancellation by Monir Bloom
We reserve the right to cancel a class if the minimum number of participants is not reached, or due to circumstances outside our control. In such cases, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another class date.
Missed Sessions
If you miss a session within a multi-week course, we are unable to offer refunds for individual missed sessions. Where possible, we will provide tutor-reviewed materials to support your continued learning.
Your Consumer Rights
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a right to cancel a booking within 14 days of purchase, unless the class takes place within that 14-day period, in which case you expressly waive this right by completing your booking. Refunds in those cases are governed by our cancellation policy above.
4. Bespoke Tailoring & Bridal Alterations
Consultation and Quotation
All bespoke tailoring and bridal alteration services begin with a complimentary consultation — in person at our studio or online. No work is undertaken until you have received and approved a written quote.
Deposits
A non-refundable deposit (typically 30–50% of the agreed total, as stated in your quote) is required to secure your project and commence work. The deposit amount will be clearly communicated before any payment is taken.
Cancellation After Commencement
Once work has commenced on a bespoke garment or alteration, the deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel after work has begun, you will be charged for all work completed up to the point of cancellation, assessed at our standard hourly rate. Any remaining deposit or advance payment above this amount will be refunded.
Fittings
You are responsible for attending agreed fitting appointments. We will notify you of recommended fitting dates in advance. If you are unable to attend a fitting, please let us know as soon as possible so we can rearrange. Fittings missed without notice may result in delays to your project.
Your Garment
If you bring your own garment for alteration, Monir Bloom will take reasonable care when handling it. We cannot accept liability for pre-existing damage, inherent weaknesses in the fabric, or damage resulting from factors beyond our reasonable control. Please advise us of any known issues before work begins.
Completion and Collection
We will notify you when your garment is ready for collection or delivery. Garments not collected within 60 days of notification, without prior agreement, may be disposed of. We will always attempt to contact you before taking such action.
Alterations — Fit Guarantee
We take great care to achieve the fit agreed at consultation. If you feel the fit is not as agreed, please contact us within 7 days of collection and we will arrange a further fitting at no charge. We cannot accept claims relating to changes in your measurements after fitting appointments have taken place.
5. Consultations
Initial consultations for bespoke tailoring and bridal alterations are offered free of charge and with no obligation to proceed. Consultations are available in person at our studio in Leith or by video call.
If you book a consultation and do not attend without notifying us, we reserve the right to decline future complimentary consultation bookings.
6. Payments & Pricing
All prices displayed on our website are in pounds sterling (GBP). We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. Any price changes will not affect confirmed bookings already paid in full.
For bespoke and alteration services, the final price may differ from the initial estimate if the scope of work changes at your request during the project. Any changes will be communicated and agreed in writing before additional work is undertaken.
Payments are processed securely through our payment provider. We do not store your card details. By making a payment, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method provided.
If a payment is declined or fails, your booking will not be confirmed. Please contact us if you experience payment difficulties.

Course materials and tutor-reviewed resources shared with class participants are for personal use only and may not be shared, reproduced, or used for teaching purposes without permission.
8. Liability
Monir Bloom’s total liability to you in connection with any service or booking shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us for that service.
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from our services, including — but not limited to — loss of enjoyment, loss of a business opportunity, or disappointment resulting from an outcome that differs from your expectations, provided we have used reasonable skill and care.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
We strongly recommend that items brought to our studio for alteration are adequately insured for their full value. Monir Bloom’s liability for loss or damage to items in our care is limited to the reasonable cost of repair or replacement with an item of similar type and quality.
9. Changes to Services & These Terms
We reserve the right to modify our services, pricing, and these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Changes will not affect bookings already confirmed and paid in full prior to the change.
